Mariah Carey Dresses Up as Eminem for New Music Video

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Looks like Mariah Carey has gotten her revenge against Eminem.

Carey dressed up in drag as the rapper while filming her new music video "Obsessed" in New York City Monday.
The tune's lyrics include: "You're so lame....Ooh boy, why you so obsessed with me? Ohh finally found a girl that you couldn't impress/Last man on the earth/still couldn't get this."
Eminem rapped about Carey -- who he has said he briefly dated in 2001 -- in his song "Bagpipes From Baghdad."
"I want another crack at ya," Eminem's lyrics go. "Nick Cannon better back...up. I'm not playing, I want her back, you punk.'"

Slammed Carey's husband Nick Cannon then: "What type of grown...man lies about getting with a chick? Only Slim Lamey! LOL!"

Jamie Foxx Dances the Moonwalk for Michael Jackson

Monday, June 29, 2009

Jamie Foxx paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson while hosting Sunday's BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The show opened with a medley of Jackson 5 hits, including "ABC" and "The Love You Save," as images of Jackson as a child flashed on a screen.

Host Foxx then walked on stage dressed as an 80s era Jackson - complete with the gloves - as "Beat It" blared in the background. He then showed off some of Jackson's signature moves, including Jackson's infamous crotch-grabbing routine.

He then shouted for the audience to clap their hands. "C'mon," he yelled, "for Michael."
"We are here for the greatest. There's no need to be sad," he told the audience, which included Diddy, Alicia Keys and Kanye West, among others. "We want to celebrate this black man - he belongs to us - and we shared him with everybody else."

"It don't matter what he looked like ... what his nose looked like ... it was what he sounded like," he went on.
"Who was the best?" Foxx then asked the audience. The crowd shouted,"MIchael!"
Foxx recounted seeing Jackson in concert in 1983 at Texas Stadium.
"Mike comes out ... and grown white men fainted," said Foxx.
He then did the moonwalk across the stage to honor the singer, who died Thursday at the age of 50 after suffering cardiac arrest.
"I am going to moonwalk for Michael Jackson," Foxx told the crowd. As he worked his way across the stage, the audience went wild.

POP Superstar Michael Jackson Dies at 50

Friday, June 26, 2009

The death of Michael Jackson brings to a sudden end the life of a performer who captivated pop audiences with the Jackson 5 and matured into a performer of electric charisma and unprecedented crossover appeal, before living out his final years as a virtual recluse.

Born Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary, Ind., Jackson was the seventh of nine children born to Katherine and Joseph Jackson. Along with older siblings Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon, Jackson first rose to fame as the pint-sized lead singer of the Jackson 5. Formed in 1964 and signed to Motown in 1968, the group quickly scored four back-to-back No. 1 pop and R&B hits, beginning with its 1969 debut single, "I Want You Back." That was followed by "ABC,"
"The Love You Save" and "I'll Be There."
In late 2008, Jackson biographer Ian Halperin claimed the pop star suffers from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a potentially fatal genetic illness, as well as emphysema and gastrointestinal bleeding. Halperin also told various sources that Jackson could barely speak and was 95% blind in his left eye.

Jackson died June 25 after reportedly being found unconscious in his Bel Air, Calif., home. Paramedics rushed the 50-year-old icon to UCLA Medical Center, where he was declared dead. Jackson was in Los Angeles rehearsing for a 50-date run of concerts at London's O2 Arena that was to begin July 13.

Jackson and his representatives at the time vigorously denied these claims. In the run-up to his planned 2009 series of concerts in London, rumors surfaced that Jackson was suffering from skin cancer, a claim denied by the concert promoter AEG Live. "He's as healthy as he can be-no health problems whatsoever," AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips told CNN. Phillips also said Jackson had passed a stringent physical exam before signing a deal to perform the concerts.
